Conferees may be appointed next week, with a goal of a final bill before both Houses of Congress by early/mid December. The below actions will maintain pressure on the New Jersey Delegation to finish the job on ESEA.
CCC Members complete phone calls/e-mails on Take Action sheet.
Spread the word at local/county meetings, conduct 10-minute meetings, distribute ESEA Flyers.
CCC Members work with colleagues to schedule in-district Congressional Meetings (staff are acceptable given the urgency)—try to meet no later than early December (please advise GR staff if a meeting is scheduled and/or if you need assistance with setting up the meeting).
Take a group picture/selfie with ESEA sign (#getitright), post to social media.
NJEA begins other advocacy activities (website, text message, phone calls, etc.).
CCC Members continue with 10-minute meetings at local/county level.
In-District Meetings with Members of Congress conclude.
CCC Members prepare to engage during voting, may require additional rounds of phone calls/e-mails.
Congress votes on ESEA Reauthorization.
